Chocolate Chip Cookies (No added sugar/minimal sugar)

Have a sweet tooth? Love chocolate chip cookies? Then this is the recipe for you!

This recipe can be modified in different ways, and can be made with no added sugar.

Feel free to indulge.


*Use the dough base to make your favorite cookie flavor or combo.



Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana

  • 1/4 cup almond or cashew butter OR allergy-friendly substitute

  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1/16 tsp salt

  • 2-3 tbsp mini chocolate chips or no-sugar-added chocolate chips

  • 2 1/2 tbsp freeze-dried raspberries OR 2 tbsp dried fruit or more chocolate chips optional

  • optional add-ins such as chia seeds, shredded coconut, etc.



How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.


Step 2

Mash the applesauce or banana with the nut butter until smooth, then stir in all other ingredients until well-combined.


Step 3

Shape into cookies - you can use a mini cookies scoop or regular spoon - and bake on a greased cookie sheet for around 15 minutes.


Step 4

Let cool 10 minutes before removing from sheet. This recipe makes 18 mini cookies or 10-12 bigger cookies.
